I am a Senior Researcher at the Institute for Earth Observation at EURAC Research, working with climate and snow data at multiple levels: ground stations, remote sensing, and models. My current research topic is biascorrection and downscaling of snow cover in regional climate models using remote sensing data.
I like to work in R, because it is a very flexible and powerful platform with an awesome online open source community. You always get to learn new fancy things, such as packages that make the life of analyzing and visualizing data easier or packages that make your code more readable (‘ce n’est pas un pipe’), and you have a community that cares about user’s needs.
